My new Wedge Larry's design....
Date: 07/26/2008
Following the wooden prototype I build an hardened aluminum wedge. Larry was so nice to make the design drawings.
My new Wedge In fact he helped a lot....
Date: 07/26/2008
Larry did help me get started on the wedge by cutting the aluminum with his band saw.....and drilling .... and tapping the threads.

In the end, there was little for me to do.... But I drilled and tapped and installed the mechanisme for the Alt adjustment with the turn buckles.

Back View Any vibration caused by adjustment of the focus etc. dies down wihin 1- 1 1/2 seconds.
Front view

Front view This wedge is solid and behaves very different than the "Shakey" that Stephen Ramsden got frustrated with. I love it and my first Jupiter image was much different and better than any of the previous images.
I have the feeling that this will allow me to make som nice detailed images for a change.
Thanks Larry!!!

CPC925, Wedge and GSO FocuserWedge with the scope mounted looks pretty scary!
Date: 02/18/2008
The wedge looks pretty scary with the scope mounted. The center of gravity is 1 inch off, which is not too bad at this time.
Testing the wedge in the field! Have to get used to the "beast"
