Clouds did break a bit and left a few breaks for some images, however overall seeing was low at 4/10.  Solar activity is low today with 4 C-class flares and 3 regions.  AR2480 and 83 keep decaying, but AR2480 still managed to release those flares.  Both spots are now Hsx class spots on the McIntosh scale.  Total Active Region area today is 250 millionths and the total spot count is at 8, while the large filament, which is now in the NW quadrant still shows nice.

Clear Skies today until I started capturing in Ha, that’s when the clouds started to arrive.  The Sun’s activity is still very low with no C-class flares in the last two days.  The two active regions 2480 and 83 are slowly decaying further, but the dark filament in the NE quadrant has gotten a small companion. Conditions were not good so the images are accordingly.  Total Spot Region  area for the Sun is at 280 millionths with each area accounting for half.  Total Sunspot count getting lower and is down from 9 to 6.

Clear Skies again this morning.  Seeing about 8/10.  Solar activity is again real low, and again no C-class flares, in the last two days.  Today two Active Regions, AR2480 and AR2483 with a total sunspot area of 280 millionths.  AR2483 has decayed some more and covers now 130 millionths and lists as a Dao on the McIntosh scale.  Total sunspots only 9.  Today three full disk images and close ups of the active regions 2480 and 83.  That Filament looks really nice today.

The Sun 2016-01-12.  It looks like we will be having a few nice days with clear skies.  Seeing is pretty good at 9/10.  The Sun’s activity today is very low again and the last C-class flare was on January the 7th!!  Active region AR2480 started to decay a little and AR2483 has taken over as the largest area with 180 millionth and a McIntosh class of Dao and has 7 Sunspots.  3 Full disk images and 3 close-ups or cut outs and the filament keeps growing.

Transparency and seeing were not good this morning. (2016-01-07) Flare activity on the Sun is low today with three C-class flares in the last two days.  Three reported Active Regions with a total spot area of 160 millionths.  Total sunspots today is 9.  Because of the bas seeing today only full disk images although I captured close ups but they were very disappointing. Despite this, a nice big  prominence was visible at the SW limb.

Started late today, too late….  High Cirrus clouds and a lot of contrails obscured the sky.  Transparency and seeing 2-3/10.  The Sun’s activity is low today with only two C-class flares in the last two days.  Two active regions have a total of 9 Sunspots and the total spot area is a low 100 millionths.  Not much to see in WL continuum and the seeing too bad for Ha and CaK.

Transparency was good 2016-01-04, but the seeing was more like two days before with the Jetstream messing up the view, causing the side of the disk to “roll” pretty bad at times.  Solar activity is Very Low with no flares in the last two days.  Three active regions today with a total sunspot area of 170 millionths, supporting 20 sunspots total.  Today three full disk images and two close ups. (Messed up the WL close-up.)  :-(

The weather has been terrible between Christmas and New Year.  Even today clouds, but I could see the Sun through the clouds at times, so today only a WL full disk image of the Sun trough terrible seeing.  Solar activity is limited to three active regions with a total sunspot count of 10.  Total Sunspot area today is 140 millionths and 1 M-class flare in the last two days.
