Weather conditions were not good with variable clouds and seeing at 6/10 during the session.  Solar activity is very low with no flares in the last two days.  Two active regions today, AR2430 and 31 with a total Sunspot area of 50 millionths and sunspot count of 2.  It is getting quiet!  Today full disk images in the three wavelengths I have equipment for as well as a close up of the Eastern limb of the Sun with AR2430 and 31 and a nice prominence.

The Sun 2015-10-07.  Solar activity again very low with no flares to report in the last two days.  Sunspot area has decreased to just 100 millionths and the total spot count today has decreased to 2.  AR2427 which still could be seen a little at the beginning of our outreach session at Heard Mixon Elementary, disappeared from our view later in the session because of the Wilson effect.

Clear and stable Skies today 8/10.  The filament in the SE quadrant has rotated further west today and is still a beautiful and massive structure.  Some smaller filaments are extending from AR2415 and 18.  AR2415 has grown a bit while AR2418  is the same size as yesterday.  Flare activity is medium with three M-class flares and 6 C-class flares in the last two days.  Total spot area today is 520 millionths and the spot count is 31. In addition to the full disk images today close ups in H-a as well as 540nm.

Clear Skies this morning with good seeing conditions 8/10.  The Solar activity is low today with 5 flares in the last two days.  Three active regions with a total spot area of 490 millionths.  Total sunspots today is at 32.  AR2418 is still growing a little but does not show a lot of activity.  The huge hedgerow prominence from a few days ago at the Eastern limb now shows up on the surface in H-a as a beautiful filament, and one can still see how massive that plasma structure is.

The Sun’s activity is picking up a bit to medium.  1M-class and 15 C-class flares in the last two days, 13 of them in AR2415.  Total sunspot area today is 680 millionths with a total of 27 spots, 20 of them in AR2415.  So let’s see how 2015 will continue, although 2418 is growing faster.  In addition a very nice prominence is visible at the eastern limb which I measured as about 40,000 miles high.  Today the solar disk in the three wavelength as well as a close up of 2425 and 18.
