The Dutch Observatory

Today is the last opportunity for me to observe the current Rotation.  I was able to image with clear skies, except for the CaK close ups, which were captured through some thin clouds.  We are having three named Active Regions today.  AR2859 did produced a C3 and a C1 flare.  AR2860 did also produce a C3 flare, but was quiet for the rest of the time. The new area AR2861 did not show activity. Today full disk images in the three wave lengths as well as close ups of the three regions.  Please note that the CaK image were captured through thin clouds.

Clear skies with average seeing this morning.  We do have a new Active Region in the SE quadrant, AR2860. Two of its spots show a penumbra while the total area of the region measures 110 millionths.  AR2859, covering 130 millionths, did not exhibit much activity, although both regions did create a C1 flare in the last twelve hours.  Full disk images today as well as close ups of the mentioned regions.

Again clear skies this morning.  AR2859 shows some decay in its trailing spots but covers a nice area of 160 millionths this morning, while it  remained mostly inactive.  However, a few filaments have erupted in the last 24 hours.

Clear skies this morning with great seeing.  We do have a nice Active Region, AR2859, with approx. 6 spots, and this one might stay for a while unlike most recent active regions. In addition we see a number for nice filaments in the Southern hemisphere and around AR2859.  Full disk images today and close ups of the region and a few proms at the NE and NW limbs.

Some clear skies between clouds, before the clouds took over.  However, the imaging session was very compromised by variable transparency, especially the Ha full disk image, .  The new area near the meridian has been named AR2858 and seems to be stable.  In addition, AR2857 produced again a few small spots before it turns to the far-side.  The nice filaprom in the NE is still visible as it transforms to a filament.  Full disk images today as well as close ups of the mentioned regions.

Being back at home and having good skies allow me to continue my solar observations.  I could not see AR2857 in the 540nm image, but a new area which is not named yet with a few small spots close to the meridian.  In addition, the NE Prom form a few days ago now shows as a nice filaprom today.

Clear skies with good seeing.  AR2850 is decaying to a plage it seems.  In addition it is close to the limb which makes it hard to see anyway.  Full disk images today as well as the Area AR2850 in the three wavelengths.

Variable clouds this morning.  We do have a new Active Region today after a spotless streak of 5 days.  AR2850 was assigned this morning to a group of two or three spots in the SW quadrant, but they did not show much activity.  So today we have full disk images as well as close ups of the new Active Region.

Clear skies with good seeing.  Just starting a new Solar Rotation and  yesterday was the 910th spotless day since Solar Max, and for today it does not look much better.  This was day 4 in the current spotless streak. A sign that Cycle 24 is still impacting the Sun’s activity.  A  faint faculae near the SE limb can be observed.  Is this a sign that something might be coming soon?
