Seven active regions today.  AR1287 will be soon on the backside of the sun.  To give a better feeling of the new active regions, I have included two closeups.  One of 1289 and the second from the new areas.

The number of active regions is on the rise again with 1295 coming around the eastern limb.  The structure of 1289 is just great, so I added another closeup.

This morning  is another day with deep blue clear sky.  The Harverst Moon must have something to do with this :-) Again a full disk image and a closeup of 89 and 92 with some prominences.  The closeup shows very nice the “delicate” structure of 1289.

A perfectly clear sky this morning.  I even could up the shutterspeed a notch.  Today 5 active regions, AR1283, 87,89,90 and 92.  The closeup is of  1289 and 90.  I tried a little more red in the images today.  I am not sure if I like this, but the 3D effect comes out more in the inverted images.

Our previous attempt to image an ISS-Sun transit on September 1st failed, because in addition to the ISS, we had another 10 minute transit, of a cloud.  But today things looked much better.  The orbit had moved the centerline from almost coming over my house two weeks ago, to about 4 miles from here between Rutlege and Madison.  Even Frank was able to capture his first ISS transit.  So he was happy!.  Below a composite of the 10 frames with the ISS, as well as a full image of the sun of about 15 minutes later.

the cooler temperatures helped the stability of the sky as well my earlier imaging session.  The skies were pretty stable, so today I am adding agin close ups of two sunspots in AR1283 and 89.

The clouds and rain from Tropical Depression Lee subsided and we had 4 hours of relative clear skies.  It was not good enough to image the rim of the sun to show some proms.  However, we saw the sun again.  Today just a full disk image normally processed and inverted with three active regions.

Labor day weekend.  High cirrus clouds, but I found a strech of relative clear skies to image, before my wife decided she wanted to go shopping in Dahlonega.  So the processing had to wait.  In addition to the full disk image, a nice closeup of AR1283.  The filaprom from yesterday has become a nice prominance and a new Prominence shows up at the eastern limb and a new regions seems to emerge in the SE.

Six active regions today AR1277, 79, 90, 81, 82 and 83.  In addition a filament is extending from the solar surface up and around the eastern limb.  This shows up very nice in the inverted images.

Well here is the movie.  About three seconds, and watch the plane transit the active region.  Click here for the YouTube version, and click the image for the movie in my gallery.
