Another clear day until the rain returns tomorrow.  Seeing 8/10.  Solar activity is again Low, this time with no flares in the last two days.  AR2506 has almost doubled its size again and is now 110 millionths out of a total of 120.  Total sunspot count today is at 18.  AR2508 is popping up and does show nicely already.  AR2507 has disappeared at the Western limb, leaving only two regions on the hemisphere.  Today three full disk images and close ups of AR2506, as well as a close up of the filaprom at the NE limb.

Clear skies and pretty stable skies today. Seeing  9/10.  The further we are getting on the way to the Solar low, the less activity we see.  Todays Solar activity is Low because there only was one C-class flare in the last two days.  The Sun only produced 3 B-class flares today.  Active Region AR2506 doubled its size to 60 millionths and has now been upgraded to a Cro from a Dai on the McIntosh scale.  The two Sunspots on the Sun cover today a total Active Region Area of 70 millionth with 17 sunspots.  Three full disk images today and close ups of AR2506 in three wavelengths.  In addition, I was able to bring the C11 out for an additional close up of AR2506 with the continuum filter.

Clear Skies with a little better conditions than yesterday. 6/10.  Solar activity is Low but we had one more C-class flare bringing the two day count to 2.  A small sunspot area has popped  close to the Western limb AR2507.  Today’s total Active Region Area for the hemisphere  is 60 millionths with 11 sunspots.  Three full disk images today as well as an Ha close up of AR2501 with a nice filament and a hedgerow prom, and a Ha and WL close up of AR2506.

Clear Skies today, but very windy and bad seeing conditions, mostly around 5/10.  Solar activity today is Low with only one C-class flare in the last two days.  There are only two Active Regions, and the total Active Region Area is just 50 millionths. And with this the Sun only shows 5 sunspots.   Because of the bad seeing, today only three full disk images and close ups of AR2501 and AR2506.  The seeing conditions were too bad during the CaK and WL sessions.

9 Days of consecutive observing with one exception.  Wow.  However, tomorrow we are starting a series of 4 or 5 cloudy days.  The Solar activity today was still rated Medium thanks to 13 Flares in the last two days, but today the three active regions on the hemisphere facing us only produced one C-Class flare.  Now where AR2497 has turned out of our view, the total Active Region area is only at 70 millionths with a total spot count of 5.  Today three full disk images and a few close ups of the three active regions as well as a Prom at the SW limb.

Crisp but clear skies.  Seeing at 8/10.  Today marks the end of Carrington Rotation 2173 and the beginning of CR2174 starting at 04:08 UT.   The activity on the Sun today is Medium with 17 C-class flares in the last two days.  Four active regions make up for a total of 300 millionths, which is up 40 since yesterday.  Total spot count is at 20.  Today three full disk images and close ups of AR2501, 02 and 03.

Clear Skies, but I don’t have much time today.  Seeing at 8/10 today.  The Sun’s activity is Medium today with 16 C-class flares and 4 Regions.  AR2497 is the most active of the regions accounting for 14 of the flares.  AR2501 is still an Hsx area but has lost about half of its size since yesterday.  Total Active Region area today is at 260 millionths and the spot count went up to 19.  Today again three full disk images and close ups of AR2497, 2501 and 2502.

This morning clear skies with improved seeing 8/10.  The Solar activity is still Medium although AR2497 has been extremely busy producing 18 C-class flares in the last two days.  AR2501 has formed with a nice Hsx spot.  AR2497 is still the dominant area but is getting ready to turn to the far side of the Sun and shows some nice spots with the Wilson effect.  Total active region area today is 310 millionths of which AR2497 covers 240.  Total spot count today is down to 18.  In addition to the three active regions, the solar limbs show some nice prominences.  A nice hedgerow and pillar prom at the Western limb and an unconnected loop at the Eastern.  Today 8 images of which 3 are full disk.

Many con-trails were criss- crossing the sky this morning resulting in a seeing of 6/10.  Solar activity is Medium today with 2 M-class flares and 12 C-class flares in the last two days.  AR2497, an Eac on the McIntosh scale today, is getting smaller again with a size of 220 millionths out of 230 for the total areas.  Two active regions only today with a sunspot count of 26.  Three full disk images today with three close ups in Ha.  One of them of the prominence at the Eastern limb.

A cold morning with clear skies, but poor seeing at 6/10. Quinten came over to take a look at my setup, and to look at the different ways you can look at the Sun.  The solar activity is Medium with two M-class flares and 8 C-class flares.  Instead of further declining, AR2497 has perked up a bit to 250 millionths again, and has even  produced the two M-Class flares.  I was fortunately enough to see one of them and capture the end of the M-1.8 flare in both Ha and CaK.  Today the Sun shows 5 active regions with a total area of 290 millionths.  The spot count for today went down to 24.  Today again, three full disk images as well as close ups of AR2497 showing the flare in Ha and CaK.
