Had to image through a thin layer of clouds today.  AR2741 continues its trip to the Western limb.  The proms at the NW limb have given a nice view in the last few days of how high into the Solar atmosphere the swirls around the two regions extended. AR2741 covers today 150 millionths with a spot count of 3.

AR2740 now has turned to the far side and AR2741 did show a C2 flare this morning early, raising the solar activity from Very Low to Low.  The light bridges in the umbra are still showing very nice and shows three arcs while the NW limb keep showing these nice prominences. However, it won’t be long until AR2740 turns to the far side also.

AR274 is approaching the Western limb and its size has not changed much.  AR2740 has widened a little and the light bridge is nicely visible in 540nm. Total Active Region Area for today is 170 millionths and the spot count is 4.  In addition, yesterday’s prom at the NW limb has rotated some more to the far side with the result that it is lower today as seen from Earth. For the rest, the Sun is quiet.

Clear skies with good seeing.  AR2740 is decaying and only covers 10 millionths.  AR2741, an Hsx region, still shows the nice light bridges in all wavelengths and covers only 150 millionths.  Total Active Region Areas for today is 160 millionths and the total spot count is 3. A prominence at the NW limb continues to show nicely.

Clear skies again!  AR2740 as well as AR2741 have decayed substantial since my last session but still show nicely.  AR2741 shows some very nice light bridges which are visible  in all three wavelengths, as well as some small filaments, and a NW prom in Ha .   Total Active Region area for today is 280 millionths and the total spot count is 4.  Today I have full disk images as well as close ups of the two regions in all three wavelengths.

Scattered clouds this morning.  The pore I mentioned yesterday is still a pore, but could not make it out in 540nm.  It is approaching the Western limb.  AR2740 which is a Cso area, and AR2741 a Hsx area, have not changed a lot.  Total Active Region Area for today is 370 millionths and the total spot count is 7.  Solar Activity remains Very Low.

Clear and stable skies!!  The new region has been named AR2741 and is relative calm as it rotates better in view.  AR2740 has been active with some flaring.  This morning an new pore started developing near the equator in the Western hemisphere.  All three areas show regular polarization.  Total active region area for today is 300 millionths and the spot count is 5. Today’s close ups show all mentioned regions in the three wavelengths.

Hazy skies this morning and some thin clouds.  However, I could make out a new area coming around the Eastern limb.  It looks like this is the old AR2739 and probably will receive a new designation today.  One might remember that AR2739 popped up five days before it turned to the far side.  Today its also the beginning of a new Carrington Rotation, so it is good to see it back again. Today full disk images as well as close ups of the region in the three wavelengths.

Well, the old AR2738 came back around and was named yesterday as AR2740.  That brings a spotless streak of 13 days to an end. In addition, a small but nice reverse polarized area could be observed in Ha and CaK at 28 degrees North near the meridian.  Today full disk images and close ups of the mentioned areas.

Clouds, but I was able to get a sucker hole large enough for my observing session.  Another day with a spotless Sun, Spotless Day 438 since solar max.
