Clear skies but the seeing was poor because Atlanta’s planes started taking off heading over my observation location.  This morning early, a new active region started developing near the NE limb.  At the time of my observation the area seemed to show already 4 small spots.  This will probably  become AR2704.  In addition, some nice filaments were visible near the northern limb.  Three full disk images today in the three wavelengths as well as close ups of the mentioned areas.

Clear Skies and spotless day 202.  Not much to see with the exception of a small faint filament in Ha.  Three full disk images in the three wavelengths.

Clear skies with good seeing.  Today is the 196th spotless day since solar max.  No great filaments or prominences but a small prom is seen at the SE limb with a faint broad filament near the edge just north of it.  The Ha close up of the center of the solar disk also shows a small dark area.  Today full disk images in all three wavelengths as well as close ups in Ha of the mentioned areas.

Sunny skies with jet condense trails interrupting the session.  I made a mistake today in that I by accident checked the “cut” function in Firecapture which only captures a 300×300 pixel image instead of the entire solar disk. The result is that I did not get a full disk image in 540nm.  4 Hours before my images AR2703 produced a B9.0 flare but so far not a C-class flare.  Total Active Region area for today is 10 millionths with two sunspots, although it was very hard to make out the Active Region in 540nm.

Sunny clear skies for a change and we do have a new active region.  AR 2703 has come around the eastern limb and even produced a C4.6 flare on its first day. It ends a streak of 11 spotless days with spotless day 192 since solar max.   It covers 10 millionths and has one sunspot.  In addition a faint filament can be seen at the NE limb.  Today full disk images in the three wavelengths as well as close ups of the active region and the faint filament in Ha.

The Sun on March 22, 2018.  Clear skies, but strong wind gusts and below average seeing.  This is spotless day 183 since solar max. Not much to see but a small faint filament near the north western limb. Full disk images in the three wavelengths.

A one hour break in the clouds allowed me to capture the Sun today in three wavelengths.  AR2702 is barely visible at the Western limb covering an area of 10 millionths with 5 spots. In addition a filament in the Northern hemisphere and a small prom are visible at the SE limb.

A very challenging session with winds and variable seeing.  Spotless day 174.  Today we can observe a nice area with some structured magnetism in the center and some faint filaments in the SE hemisphere.

Seeing on the 4th was less than the 3rd, but we still had clear skies, and strong winds at times. Another spotless day.  Number 168 since Solar max. We can observe some nice filaments in Ha as well as a nice prominence at the SE limb.

The seeing was much better the 3rd of March than the day before, but still not very great.  AR2700 is barely visible in Ha and covers 10 millionths with a spot count of 1.  Full disk images and close ups of AR2700 as well as a few nice filaments on the Eastern hemisphere.
