The last day in the Carington rotation 2140. The conditions seemed to be good, but for the close ups, the seeing is terribel with 1/6 However, managed to get one good frame. Active regions 1834, 35 and 36 still look pretty active.

Back from a trip to europe and after a long time it seems of not having been able to image a few minutes free to make an image of the Sun again. Three nice active regions but not much activity at the limbs.

My close ups of AR1818 and 1817 on the 12th. were stacks of about 20 frames out of 1000. (Because we have clouds today) I went back and reprocessed them with a stack of the 3 best frames out of 1000. A lot sharper and the noise is still reasonable. I also used another color scheme, although it seems a little harsh for my taste.

Tonight the Purbach Cross was visible for our area. The X sign shows because of the rising sun illuminates the tops of adjoining craters. It was still bright around 7:00 PM but we had lots of clouds. Here the best image taken through moving clouds. Wish the clouds would not have been there! SVC80 with DMK21Au04.AS and 2x barlow, cropped.

Activity on the increase today. AR1818 increased 3 fold in size and produced some C Class flares while AR1817 really grew a lot and ejected an M1.5 class flare and 7 C-class flares, while the number of spots in 1817 increased from 3 to 12. The seeing was not too good but sporadic quiet moments in the atmosphere allowed a few good frames for the large close ups of AR1817 and 1818.

Today the sun is out for most part. Some nice relative small complex sunspots and the size of the flares produced were a little bigger than yesterday (C-Class). The sky was relative stable today (seeing 3/6) so the C11 came out for a few close ups. A full disk image with some proms and close up images of AR1817 and AR1818 using the 3.8u Baader and a red filter The filament in the southern hemisphere is over 230,000 miles long and very impressive.

More cloudy than yesterday, but enough to get an image and a close up of a not yet named AR and a few nice proms. The Sun has been quiet for the last few days and produced a few flares each day since Wednesday, but all except one were B-class flares. AR 1813 almost doubled in size from 40 to 70 millionth. Waiting for more action to come.

Finally the sun is out again, although between and through the clouds. Was able to capture these images with active regions 1808, 09, 10, 11, 13, 14, 15 and 16, however flare activity has been very low the last two days with three B and one C class flares. Hope the weather becomes better for the weekend.

A nice cloudless early morning. The sun is kind of busy with active regions, but flare activity has been minimal. Since the seeing was a lot better(3) than earlier this month, today again a few images with the C11, the 3.8u WL filter, but today I used the red filter for three sunspots. The green allows shorter exposure time (1/10.000) but the red gives more detail. The three close ups are made with: 1) SM40 and a 3x barlow and 2)the C11 in prime focus, and the large scale image of 1806 uses an additional 2x barlow. I tried 1806 also with a 3x barlow, but the turbulence was too much to get any decent images.
