Seeing this morning was best in a long time.  Yesterday, several hours after my observing session, the old AR2706 are produced a B2.1 flare, but other than that, the sun is real quiet today.  The plages still can be seen in Ha and CaK but the region will soon rotate to the far-side of the sun. Today full disk images and close ups of the region as well as a nice southern filament and a small SE prom.

Clear and stable skies today.  Sunspot AR2706 has disappeared so we have spotless day 208 since solar max.  A very small prominence is visible and the plage associated with the AR2706 is still visible in Ha and CaK.  A few very small and faint filaments can still be seen, but the sun is real quiet today.  Today full disk images and close ups of the mentioned areas.

Clear skies and good seeing!  AR2706 continues to decay and contains 1 sunspot and covers only 10 millionths.  In addition to the area, a nice prom can be seen at the Western limb.  Today’s images include full disk images as well as close-ups of the area and the prom in the Ha image.

Clear and stable skies this morning.  AR2706 has decayed to a small 20 millionths Hrx area with 4 spots and might be gone before it reaches the Western limb.  A few very small prominences were seen and a filament at near the SE limb.  Today full disk images in the three wavelengths as well as close ups of AR2706 and the filament.

Clear skies this morning with some cirrus clouds tracking through the images.  AR2706 is now a nice Cao classified active region covering 40 millionths and 4 spots.  Yesterday the area produced 4 B-class flares and today at the time of my observing it produced already 2 B-class flares.  Today full disk images as well as close ups of the region in the three wavelengths as well as two western proms and a distinct filament.

Clear Skies with poor seeing.  A new, yet unnamed but distinct spot has come around the Eastern limb.  Today is also the first day of Carrington Rotation 2203.  CR2202 ended accounting for 23 spotless days, the highest for a rotation since solar max.  In addition, the Sun showed some nice filaments as well as (Western limb) proms.  Today full disk images as well as close ups of the mentioned regions.

Clear skies with average seeing.  Another spotless day.  Two small proms were visible at the Western limb, otherwise pretty calm.  The last events, three B-class flares were on the 15th. Today full disk images in the three wavelengths as well as close ups of the mentioned regions.

Clear skies again with strong wind gusts.  A spotless Sun today for spotless day 205.  The old region is still visible as a plage and it looks like something is forming at the Eastern edge of the Sun. A small filament in the North and a small prom at the NE limb are visible.  In visible light, the sun looked empty.

Skies were cloudy but changed to broken, allowing me to image the sun between the clouds.  At 0030 UT AR2704 was recorded as covering 30 millionths and having 4 spots. But at the time of my observation, it seems to have deteriorated to the extent that I could not make out the area in 540nm.  Still nicely visible in CaK and Ha.  Full disk images today with close ups at 1.5x larger than my normal captures.

Being below the flight departure track of Atlanta airport, this time of the year can bring a lot of contrails.  This morning was no difference.  Clear skies, but filled with countless contrails making the transparency and seeing terrible today. It looks like AR2704 is decaying already.  Some of the spots don’t look as distinct anymore. The total Active Region Area for today is 30 millionths and the spot count is 4, but no flare was noticed.  I wonder if this becomes another 2-3 day area. Full disk images in the three wavelengths as well as close ups of AR2704 and some nice prominences at the SE and SW limbs.
