Conditions were average to poor on this Mothers Day with lots of con-trails and cirrus clouds.  AR2822 is nicely turning in full view and covers now 180 millionths.  An C8 flare was produced in the last 24 hours which peaked at 1845 UT.  We’ll keep looking for any further changes.

Clear skies before the clouds came.  AR2822 was named and covers an area of 130 millionths.  It was quite active as it produced an M3 Flare late yesterday.  I want to note here that Cycle 25 has not produced an M5 flare yet which would have triggered an R2 alert to be sent.  The area in the Southern hemisphere has changed a lot and shows a nice filament now, and the Sun shows some nice prominences which are visible in the full disk Ha image. We have an interesting Sun again!

A new area has turned in view at the North-Eastern limb.  The Region has not been named yet, which is expected later today. However, it has been assigned SDO/HMI tracking number 6323 (HARP).  The Wilson effect can very nicely be observed in the 540nm close up image of this region, as the dark “bottom” is visible all the way to the side of the pen-umbra to the right .  The SE quadrant shows another region not visible in WL, and is  assigned tracking number 6322, but it shows very prominent in the Ha and CaK images without any signs of spots.

After 4 days of clouds, rain and storms, we have a clear sky again!  However, its a spotless Sun today, following a series of 4 consecutive spotless days.  In fact yesterday was Spotless day 907 since Solar Max. in Cycle 24.

Clear skies today.  AR2821 has turned around the edge, but we still see AR2818 in all wave lengths and AR2820 shows as a plage in Ha and CaK.  In addition to some very small proms, a string of filaments can be observed in Ha in the SE, as well as a small plage near the Northern Central Meridian in CaK
