The Dutch Observatory

This is my 1000th Astronomy Blog on my http://ceastronomy.org/tramakers site.  It has been a while since I started this, but it just keeps going and going…..
This time a special view of AR2529.  A composite of 14 days of activity in H-a of  this Active Region, shown in 10 images. (Click the thumbnail to see the full image)  All the way from when it announced its arrival on April 7th when it became noticeable at the Eastern Limb, to April 20th, when we barely could see the plasma levitation above the region when it was at the Western limb. It has been a while since we had a Region of this size.  AR2422 reached over 800 millionths Last year September 30th and October 1st.  So these 2 weeks have been exciting.

Clear skies for a change (for a little).  Seeing approx. 8/10.  Solar activity today is Very Low with no flares in the last two days.  Now, where AR2529 is gone, the active region total is down to 90 millionths with only 4 spots in two regions. I  did my normal run, but forgot to take  flats, so some Newton rings slipped in again.  Also, I did not break out AR2532 in CaK. Sorry for that.
