The clouds cleared up a bit but my session was delayed.  Seeing ranged from above average to below average. Because of the interruptions by the clouds, my session of today spanned from CR2208 into CR2209 (the last image).   Another spotless day.  Although a little activity could be seen in Ha and CaK, I did not make a close up in WL.  A nice prominence was visible at the SE limb.

Clear skies before the clouds came in.  The seeing was average.  We are at spotless day 296.  It has been a real long time since I’ve seen the Sun as quiet as it is today.  No small plages in CaK and only a very small filament at the NW and SE limb, while we could observe three very small prominences at the E, SE and NW limbs. Full disk images in the three wavelengths as well as close ups of the mentioned regions.

Fall Equinox! The first day of fall.  Seeing was below average with some thin clouds tracking trough.  No sunspots today.  A few small filaments in Ha and a few proms.  Solar Activity remains Very Low, but despite the arrival of fall, the temps here in Oxford still don’t show any indication of getting lower than the 90s during the day. Something does not seem to work!!

Clear skies on the last observation day of the Summer of 2018.  Seeing is great.  No spots and Solar Activity remains Very Low.  Today full disk images in the three wavelengths, as well as close ups of two small filaments in the northern hemisphere  and two nice prominences at the NE and NW limb in Ha.

Clear skies with good seeing conditions.  No sunspots today and the remaining plage of AR2720 is getting ready to rotate to the far side.  The center plage still looks nice in Ha and CaK.  In addition a few filaments were visible as well as a very nice prom at the NE limb.  Solar Activity remains Very Low.

Clear skies with good seeing this morning.  Not much to see on the Sun today.  The few pores from yesterday disappeared again so no spots, but the two plages are still visible, as well as a small filament in the North.  No proms today. This is it for spotless day 288.

Clear skies this morning with average to good seeing.  A few pores are popping up again near some faculae close to the Western limb.  We still see the two plages from two days ago, and although faint, I captured three proms.  Two at the Eastern limb and one at the Western. Maybe the pores will be named by tomorrow.

Today, the bands of clouds did not obscure the Sun during my observing session.  Still no sunspot today.  However, two areas which are pretty bright in Ha and CaK.  In addition two very tiny filaments, as well as proms all around the solar disk.

Hurricane Florence made landfall this morning in the Carolinas, but here in NE Georgia we had clear skies, with the exception of this long …. thin… band of clouds that did not want to disappear.  So under some less ideal conditions here my observation.  The Sun today is spotless but displays a small filament, a small plage and a few prominences.  That’s it for today. Full disk images and close ups of the mentioned areas in Ha.

The clouds did not clear for my session, so today only one WL image through the clouds.  After a spotless day a new area has developed AR2722 and can be seen on the full disk image just a bit SE from center.  The area covers 10 millionths and supports 4 spots.  I don’t know what the next 4 – 5 days are going to bring as far as observing is concerned, while hurricane Florence approaches the coast.
