The current gate closure time is 7 p.m. After that time, a code is needed for park entry (& access to the astronomy field).

The Changing CE Website

Hello everyone,

Soon, you’ll notice some changes in the chapter website.  We’ve just added a new “blog” and several project updates via a new web application, loaded in the background.

With this, comes a new look and feel and some interesting features.  The new look sports a background dominated by the “Horsehead” nebula, a new system of menus, a search feature and a “blog”.

We’ll be using the blog to post observing alerts (I’m using it now to post this message).  Any posts to the blog automatically post the same message to our Charlie Elliott Chapter Yahoo group.  This makes alerts available to Yahoo group members as well as anyone browsing our website.

Eventually we plan to move most of the old site to this new format, but that will be a gradual change. The main feature we’re taking advantage of with this new site is that each of the club officers and chapter members involved with projects, can do their own updates to the website.  This should present a website that is much more frequently updated and current.

There is nothing for you to do, we’ll link the new pages in as we change them.

Take a look at the new site, comments and ideas are welcome.  No links exist yet from the old site, but the address is easy to remember:
